Neuropeptide (nonapeptide)
DSIP(Delta sleep-inducing peptide)
Target: Not fully characterized
A nonapeptide (Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu) first isolated in 1977 from the cerebral venous blood of rabbits during induced sleep.
Studied in neuroscience research on sleep architecture, stress responses and neuroendocrine regulation. Its receptor has not been definitively identified.
